Description
This striking 3yr old gelding is proving to be the perfect gentleman, with a sweet and easy personality he is bold and willing. Recently lightly backed he is happily hacking out alone and in company. He has a huge bold clean free jump which carried through under saddle, he will be an exciting prospect for a professional rider or an ambitious amateur wishing to carve a career in either eventing or show jumping.
His Sire LUIDAM was described by Michael Whitaker as “one of the most exciting and promising new stallions to breeding programs for many years”. He was the winner of the Foxhunter Finals in Wembly in 1999 with John Popeley. In 2002 he was purchased by Sue Davis and went on to win over £100,000 in his first year as a nine year old, jumping with Billy Twomey. He was selected for the Athens Olympic Team in 2004. He jumped an impressive double clear in the Aga Khan’s Nations Cup in the Dublin Horse Show to win for Ireland in 2004.
His Dam Sire IRCO LHEE descends from the great MARCO POLO, the sire of famous stallions such as Recruut, Irco Polo and Marius, who himself is the sire of the show-jumping legend Milton. His Grandsire Ico Sun (nee Daz with John Whitaker) is one of the few coloured stallions that competed at showjumping at national level in Holland.
Irco Lhee’s dam IRIS has an approved full brother standing in Germany, and her sire Samber is one of the only coloured stallions standing in Holland who has competed to Grand Prix level dressage. He was the only horse to get a perfect 10 for temperament in his performance test. Samber is also the sire of Western Star who won Individual Gold at European Three-Day Event Championship level. Samber is also a Grade A showjumper.
